Hands up if you feel like you need a bit of definition in your life and on your face? Say hello to the Sculpted Beauty Blocks! Launched late last year, this trio of face palettes is aimed at the gal who wants to be sculpted, look fresh faced and enhance their glow. I feel like I look like a potato at the moment, so all sculpting and enhancing is most greatly appreciated.
The Sculpted team sent me the three versions of the Beauty Blocks – light, medium and deep. Each 4-in-1 face palette houses a bronzer, a blush, and two highlights – a cream and blush version. They all sit in a heavy duty, but beautiful mirrored palette, ready to get to work. At €32, they’re good value as each pan works out at €8 each. Don’t you love a bit of beauty maths?
I found that the bronzers had a small bit of fall out when I dipped my brush in, but it wasn’t excessive. But because the cream highlight is right beside it, some of that fall out made its way into it. So I’d advise not to swirl your brush into the bronzer. There’s no fallout with the powder highlight or blush, so you’re grand there.
Sculpted Beauty Block – Light
I’ve been wearing the Light palette the most, as it suits my complexion right now. But I think when spring and summer hits, I’ll be able to wear the Medium palette too. Below are the swatches and you can see that the bronzer packs a serious punch in terms of colour payoff. The cream highlight is very subtle, almost sheen-like and makes for a great base for the powder highlight. The blush is a soft peach, with champagne shimmer running through it. While it looks pigmented in the swatch below, on the cheeks, the shimmer is definitely more obvious, and it almost acts like a highlighting blush.
Sculpted Beauty Block – Medium
The Medium palette leans more on the gold side with its equally impressive bronzer that’s gorgeous on the eyes too. Again, the cream highlight is really subtle, so ideal for those who love their sheen, and the gold powder highlight is really soft and buttery. I’ve loved wearing this on the eyes too. The blush is deeper than the shade in the light palette, and still has the gold shimmer running through it. It’s a really cohesive palette and I can’t wait for the sunnier days where I can wear it!
Sculpted Beauty Block – Deep
The Deep palette is for those with darker skin tones and has some of my favourite shades in the whole collection. See the bronzer? Not a hint of patchiness at all. The cream highlight is stunning with its pinky peach undertone and gold shimmer, while the powder highlight is a soft pinky gold. The blush is the only matte blush in the trio of palettes and is soft and buttery. If you prefer a shimmery blush like the other two palettes, then try adding the cream highlight underneath this, or add the powder highlight all over the top of the blush. If we can’t use this time to experiment, what’s the point!
